This is as cases in the country rise to 131 with Lagos State having the highest number of Coronavirus Confirm cases in Nigeria.

The Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, confirmed this on Monday at the Presidential Task Force Briefing on COVID-19 in Abuja.

the governor made this known via his verified Twitter page, he wrote “I just received mybCOVI_19 Confirmation test result. It is POSITIVE. I am asymptomatic and will continue to Self-isolate.”

Coronavirus: Billionaire, CEO Globalcom Limited, Mike Adenuga Donate 1.5 Billion To Nigeria To Fight Against Coronavirus.

Nigerian Billionaire and a business Mogul Mike Adenuga, a billionaire who has been sited on Forbes several times, has decided to render a helping hand to Nigeria Government to fight against Coronavirus.

The Mike Adenuga Foundation has donated the sum of N1.5 billion to Nigeria’s fight against the coronavirus (COVID-19) disease which has become a global pandemic.

The foundation is owned by billionaire businessman, Mike Adenuga Jr., owner of telecommunications giant, Globacom.

Of the large sum, N1 billion will go to the Central Bank of Nigeria-led private sector coalition which is coordinating efforts to raise funds from corporate bodies.

The remaining N500 million will go to the Lagos State government. The state has recorded most (68) of Nigeria’s total of 111 confirmed coronavirus cases.

Coronavirus: UI College Of Medicine Provost And The Deputy Provost Have Both Tested Positive For Coronavirus.

The provost and deputy provost of the University of Ibadan’s College of Medicine, Professors Oluwabunmi Olapade-Olaopa and Obafunke Denloye have both tested positive for COVID-19.

This was confirmed in a Whatsapp group message Prof Olapade-Olaopa sent out on Sunday morning. The message read;

“Dear colleagues, I wish to inform you that the deputy provost and I tested positive for the COVID-19 following the tests done on Friday.

“Although we are both asymptomatic, we have gone into self-isolation for the 14 days while our contacts are being observed closely to determine if they should also be tested.”

The University’s management also confirmed the development in a tweet. The tweet reads;

This is coming after the Medical Director of the University College Hospital Ibadan, Prof Jesse A. Otegbayo confirmed that he also tested positive for coronavirus.

Coronavirus: FG. Orders the immediate shutdown of Lagos and two others States in Nigeria.

The president, orders the total shutdown of three States in Nigeria I period of Fourteen days, the states who includes Lagos State, FCT Anuja and Ogun State.

The President disclosed in his address to the nation on Sunday, March 29.

Addressing Nigerians, the President said, “based on the advice of the Federal Ministry of Health and the NCDC, I am directing the cessation of all movements in Lagos and the FCT for an initial period of 14 days with effect from 11pm on Monday, 30th March 2020.

This restriction will also apply to Ogun State due to its close proximity to Lagos and the high traffic between the two States.”

He urged all citizens in these areas to stay in their homes, adding that travel to or from other states should be postponed.

He urged that the businesses within this mentioned states should be totally closed during this period, to curb the further spread of the Coronavirus.

Coronavirus: Print More Naira Note To Boost Economy_Tinubu To FG.

All Progressives Congress leader, Bola Tinubu, has asked the Federal Government to print more naira notes in order to save the economy from collapse even as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to bite harder.

Tinubu said this in a statement he wrote in commemoration of his 68th birthday.

The former governor of Lagos State said the United States Federal Reserve had printed more dollars in order to boost the economy.

He added that Nigeria Could do the same to boost her economy.

Jubilation In China: Over 70,000 Chinese Recover From Coronavirus

The People’s Republic of China now has the highest number of recoveries from the Coronavirus infection, totaling 74,588.

China has a record of 81, 340 covid-19 cases, latest figures posted by Worldometer revealed this on Friday.

Meanwhile, Italy has 10,950 recoveries out of 84498 Covid-19 cases in the country while 2447 Americans have recovered out of 93,881 case, according to Worldometer figures.

The World Health Organization (WHO) had said that China’s recovery from Coronavirus pandemic, provides hope for the entire world.

The U.S President, Donald Trump also said he was keeping in touch with China’s leader, as his country continues to battle the pandemic.

Two nurses and a doctor have been confirmed to have tested positive for Coronavirus at a hospital in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital. 

The health workers, who are staff of a government hospital in Abuja, were part of medical personnel that attended to an infected person brought into the hospital.
